One use case for contingent offers is the limitation of discounted early bird offers, e.g. the first 100 people receive a 25% discount. This variant is often used as an alternative to discounted registration periods with a deadline.
The early bird offer for an event can be assigned a quota with the help of a response linked as a quota counter.
To set up a limited early bird offer, an offer package must be created in the offer wizard with the corresponding name.
To map this use case, two separate offers are required, one for the early bird period and one for the regular period.
It should be noted that prices are only stored for the first registration period in the early bird offer (see Fig. 1). In the standard offer without discount, only the subsequent period (standard) is priced accordingly. As soon as the early bird period has expired, only the standard package will be displayed.
If necessary, existing questions that may also be stored in the standard offer must be added.
For reasons of visibility, the special early bird offer package should be placed above the standard offer in the offer overview (Fig. 2).
Then switch to the response overview and select the directly linked response that was automatically generated together with the offer package.
If the offer package has not been renamed in the offer wizard after creation, the response has the same name as the offer.
If you subsequently rename it, you can check the direct link to the response if in doubt.
Enter the desired contingent in the response (Fig. 3).
It is recommended to book the standard offer package at the same time as the early bird offer. If the early bird offer is fully booked before the end of the period, it can no longer be selected. Without an alternative offer, it may not be possible to complete the registration as desired. The contingent can be adjusted at any time or the early bird period can be extended to make the offer available for longer.
