C3 - The login area for attendees

Configuration -> Attendee registration -> Configuration

The login area in the C3 - Conference Control Center is used by attendees to manage their overall data (Fig. 1). You can perform the following actions there:

  • View participation lists and edit your own entry on the list

  • Retrieve all documents, if available (invoice, booking confirmation, payment confirmation, confirmation of participation)

  • Make subsequent bookings (depending on the offer structure and the original booking)

  • Edit personal data

  • Change password

  • Participate in surveys

  • Submit and manage contributions

The following actions cannot be carried out independently by attendees in the login area:

  • Make subsequent credit card or PayPal payments for bookings that have already been completed

  • Rebooking, i.e. making changes to offers that have already been booked

  • Delete an account

Login mode

Organizers can specify whether or not attendees have to create an account during the registration process. There are three login modes to choose from in the registration configuration (Fig. 2):

  • Normal

  • Optional

  • Deactivated

Fig. 2: Selection of the login-mode
Fig. 2: Selection of the login-mode

Login Mode "Normal"

  • Default setting

  • Creating an account during the registration process is mandatory.

Login Mode "Optional"

  • The person making the booking has the choice of whether or not to create an account during the registration process.

  • For this purpose, a message can be inserted (Fig. 2) which is displayed when I do not want to register for a user account is selected in the frontend (Fig. 3).

  • People who do not create an account can subsequently activate an account at any time by requesting a password via the email address they used to register.

Fig. 3: Hint-text regarding the creation of an account in the frontend

Login Mode "Deactivated"

  • No option to create an account during the registration process.

  • As all relevant documents and links, e.g. for uploading proof, are also sent by email, an account is not absolutely necessary.

  • However, accounts can be subsequently activated for participants' personal data records by requesting a password via the email address they used to register.

Special case: Group booking

Regardless of the login-mode, the person making the booking as the group administrator must create an account. A personal data record without an account is created for all other group members, no matter which of the login-modes was selected.

Display of the login-box in the C3

Regardless of the login mode, the login box is always displayed on the left side of the C3-screen, as the configurable mode refers exclusively to the User account option in the login process. It may therefore be necessary to be able to log in to use other functions or modules in Converia.

Since the accounts can be used for all events of a Converia installation, it is also possible that booking persons already have an account that was created for another event. This account could also be used in events with deactivated account creation in the registration process.

The login-box can be hidden in the general settings in the configuration (Fig. 4).

The login box also takes you to the userauthentication page, which is always available by default. People can create accounts there independently of the login process (Fig. 5).
