Mapping tax rates

Configuration -> Attendee Registration -> Configuration

In Converia, service types are defined to store tax rates on packages and sub-packages of offers and to display them on invoices.

Prerequisites

The following points must be fulfilled so that the information on the service types is displayed in full everywhere:

  • The calculation of VAT for the event is activated (Fig. 1, point 1).

  • The display of the tax exemption notice is activated (Fig. 1, point 2).

The tax exemption notice is only displayed for services that are shown as tax-free (= service type in the offer wizard).

Define service type

The service type is stored separately for each offer package.

  • To do this, click on the title of the offer in the offer wizard. The service type can now be selected in the editing view (Fig. 2).

  • If “-” is selected, no tax information is stored for the offer.

If an offer package contains several partial services that need to be assigned to different service types, you can map these mixed tax rates using sub-packages.

Gross prices are always displayed in Converia, i.e. service types/taxes are included in the offer price. Net prices are only displayed in the frontend as part of the reverse charge procedure.

Display of the service type in the frontend

The service type for the respective offer is visible at various points in the registration process. In the step before the payment process, the tax included is also displayed as an amount (Fig. 3). On the invoice, the service types and tax information are shown below the items (Fig. 4).

Additional texts for specific service types

In Converia, the standard tax information is defined according to the legal basis in Germany and is displayed on the invoice (Fig. 4). If other tax information is required on the invoice, this can be adapted for each service type.

An editing area is displayed for each benefit type (tax-free/7%/19% etc.) (Fig. 5). The following can be defined for each benefit type:

  • Whether the standard text from Converia should be completely hidden on the invoice and a separate note should be displayed instead (fill in the text field below the checkbox).

  • Or the standard text from Converia should only be supplemented by a separate note (do not activate the checkbox, fill in the text field below).
