# Activation of the registration

The activation of the attendee registration in the frontend happens in **two steps**:

* Temporally via the date in *Registration start* and *Registration deadline* (Fig. 1, Item 1).
* By using the checkbox *Activate attendee registration* (Fig. 1, Item 2).

In order for the *Register for Participation* button to appear as an entry point in the registration process on the frontend, both steps must be active.

If a link to register for a participation is accessed while one of the configuration parameters is inactive (e.g., because the registration period has expired), a **notification** will appear indicating that the registration is inactive. Additionally, contact options are provided, containing information from the [registration contact](https://manual.converia.de/en/general/a-new-event-in-converia/central-settings-and-individualization/contact-information/registration-contact) (Fig. 2).

If the **attendee registration shall start automatically at a specific date/time,** the desired date/time must be entered and the *Activate attendee registration* checkbox must be selected.

The preview function can be used to test settings in the frontend before the registration is officially activated. This can be accessed via the *Preview* button in the registration configuration (Fig. 1) or in the *Offer wizard*, provided that the registration is active (see Fig. 1, point 2).

If a subdomain is used for the event (e.g. **myevent**.converia.de), the preview only works, if it is called up from this subdomain. This means that you must log into the backend at **myevent**.converia.com/admin with your access data in order to call up the preview in the configuration.
