In order to create vouchers or send them by e-mail, voucher types must first be created. The voucher types serve as categories for the internal assignment of created vouchers.
The name and expiry date for the voucher type can be defined in the general settings. The name can be freely chosen and is only used for internal allocation. The expiry date can be selected using a calendar picker. Both details can also be changed at a later date.
The date selected here will be the default value for all newly generated codes of this voucher type. It should be chosen carefully and, if in doubt, with a larger time buffer to avoid problems with expired voucher codes. The expiry date of individual codes that have already been generated can also be adjusted in voucher management.
After the designation and expiration date have been defined for voucher types, the effects and impacts of vouchers can be configured.
When vouchers are activated during the registration process, a selection of offers for a specific price group is automatically added to the shopping cart. If this is to be possible for several price groups, additional voucher types must be created for each price group.
Please note that queries within offers can no longer be answered once they are in the shopping cart.
It is possible to give relative (%) or absolute (€) discounts on packages, depending on the price group. Multiple entries per price group can be made. For additional price groups, new voucher types should be created.
This relative (%) or absolute (€) discount is independent of the price group and applies to the entire category.
Activate hidden price groups
This voucher effect is most often used to easily restrict entire offer structures and make them accessible via vouchers. The prerequisite for this is a separate price group that is not visible in the frontend (Fig. 2).
You can create vouchers that enable a specific payment method. This payment method must be set up, active and not visible in the event.
Payment methods can also be restricted to a specific price group. This is configured directly in the corresponding payment method; see Enabling and Restricting Payment Methods for Persons and Countries.
It is usually not necessary to create vouchers in advance. Individual voucher codes can be created easily at any time, provided that suitable voucher types have been set up.
Directly generating a large number of vouchers in voucher types only makes sense in a few scenarios, for example, when using an external solution for a planned mail merge.
If voucher codes or links for registering with a voucher are to be sent via mailing from Converia, this is done using the replacer in the email module, see Sending vouchers by email
In the “Generate vouchers” tab, any number of voucher codes can be created. The voucher codes always consist of a random combination of numbers and letters.
To do this, enter the required number of vouchers of the desired type, followed by a click on Generate.
The created codes can then be copied either directly from the blue message (Fig. 9, point 1) or from the list in the Vouchers tab (Fig. 9, point 2).
The Manual Conference 2024 offers special, hidden price groups for speakers that are not publicly accessible. These price groups allow speakers to register at a greatly reduced price or for free. These special price groups can be activated using voucher codes.
Process:
Creating hidden price groups:
In Converia, a special price group is created for speakers, which, for example, grants a reduced or free registration fee.
This price group can only be unlocked with a voucher and is not visible to the general public.
Creating and sending vouchers via email:
An email template is created using the Converia email module.
The voucher code is automatically integrated into the email using a replacement function and then the email is sent to selected speakers.
Redeeming the voucher:
The speakers enter the voucher code when they register, which automatically activates the hidden price group and enables discounted or free participation.
Monitoring and administration:
The organizers with backend access can use Converia to track which speakers have redeemed their vouchers and how many have not yet been redeemed.
