# Send vouchers by email

The email module can be used to create and send **individual** voucher codes. To do this, *voucher categories* must first be created. When the email is sent, an individual code is automatically generated for each recipient by the voucher replacement.

If vouchers are generated via the email module, each voucher code **can** initially **only be used once**. If the codes are to be used multiple times, the quotas must then be adjusted in the [*voucher administration*](https://manual.converia.de/en/attendees/setting-up-the-registration/vouchers/create-and-manage-vouchers).

You can either send a **voucher code** or a direct **link to the registration with a pre-selected voucher** (Fig. 1).

It is important to carry out all the marked steps (Fig. 1) correctly to avoid sending invalid voucher codes:

1. Select the appropriate voucher category
2. Set a valid expiration date in the future
3. Either *insert voucher code* or *insert link to registration with voucher*

The placeholder for the voucher code is inserted in the text as *#:Replacement:#*.

Only after the email has been successfully [sent](https://manual.converia.de/en/general/email-communication-from-converia/create-and-send-emails) will the individual voucher codes be displayed in the preview and can possibly be edited in the voucher administration.
