Persons in posts – author addresses vs. main address

This article explains which people in Converia have to do with posts and how author addresses and main addresses for a person work.

People in posts

Responsible person/submitter

• Each contribution has exactly one person: the person primarily responsible, in the case of submitted contributions, the “submitter”.

• The submitter does not have to be one of the authors.

• Can make changes to the content of the contribution.

• Is the contact person.

• Is not published.

Author

• Usually, there are several authors per contribution.

• The maximum number of authors per contribution can be limited.

• The submitter does not have to be one of the authors.

• Authors can optionally be informed by email about the submission and the evaluation results.

• They cannot make any changes to the contribution.

• They will be published in the list view of the sessions in the conference planner in the order given (expand details).

• Authors who are not presenters will not be listed in the list of persons in the conference planner.

Speakers/Presenters

• Each contribution has one or more presenters.

• Presenters can (only) be determined from the authors.

• Presenters are displayed directly for each contribution in the list view of the sessions in the conference planner (above Details).

• Presenters are listed in the directory of persons in the conference planner.

Main address vs. author address

The authors of a contribution have, in addition to their main personal address (e.g. private address), a separate author address (e.g. research institute) for each contribution. This address may differ from the person's main address.

Behavior

• An author can have different “author addresses” in different contributions (e.g. institute A, company B).

• The author addresses can only be adjusted by the submitters. In particular, care must be taken to ensure that the institutions are spelled consistently so that they can be indexed correctly.

• Changing a person's main address does not affect their author address(es).

• Discrepancies between the main address and the author address(es) are indicated in the relevant places in the system.

• The main addresses are listed in the list of persons in the conference planner, while the author addresses are listed in the context of the contribution (session list or contribution details).

• The author address is also called “affiliation”.
